What is the SAR indicator and what should you look out for before buying a new device:
SAR Index (Specific Absorption Rate), the “ Special Absorption Rate ” shows the rate at which you absorb the radiation of each device from our body
After studies, the European Union has set the maximum permissible limit for this absorption at 2 watts / kg for every 10g of tissue , a limit that manufacturers must not exceed no case if they want to see their device on the market.
The SAR is usually referred to as the double number , as it gives information about the absorption of radiation to both the body and the head , with the second number should usually be quite high, since during a call, the radio waves received and transmitted by your device are at a maximum level, while it also comes in direct contact with your head.
This is why the general view is that appliances with a SAR rating above 1watt / kg should be avoided after “baking” with radiation to the human brain.
What no one takes into account, unfortunately before reaching the above conclusion, is that SAR is by no means an indicator of the amount of radiation received during the daily use of your device.
SAR is the UPPER radiation limit that the device can emit under the worst possible conditions, which is usually reproduced only in the laboratory.
The radiation you receive increases dramatically in areas with low signal , or when the antennas for construction purposes are placed closer to the front of the device, which further reduces the distance of the transmitter-receiver from your head.
So a device with SAR 0.7 for example that due to poor construction the low quality antenna that forces it to operate continuously at maximum volume (0.6-0.65) is a bigger problem than a device with SAR 1.1 which due to good signal reception operates continuously at lower limits ( 0.4- 0.5).
The SAR indicator alone, as you can see, is not a rule for which device is safe or not .
What you can do to reduce the radiation you receive is to select the provider with the best signal at your place of residence and work, or where you can make multiple calls while using one hands free significantly helps to reduce the amount of radiation you receive, as the absorption of radiation decreases exponentially as the distance of the device from our body increases.
In general, keep in mind that ALL devices on the market are fully compliant with the safety limits , although there is a lot of criticism about whether the established security limits are sufficient or not and are sufficient to ensure our absolute protection).
But regardless of the criticism of the established safety limits, you should pay the necessary attention to the SAR index of a mobile device, since the radiation is there, and there are many who claim that highly absorbed devices cause side effects (headache, dizziness). etc).
